Sadova edges out Kelesidou
|
Russia's Natalya Sadova spoiled Greece's party with victory in the women's discus.
Anastasia Kelesidou had looked set to win the title for Greece after a throw of 66.68 metres in the third round and the crowd were ready to celebrate.
But she had to settle for silver after Sadova, who won silver medal in Atlanta but was fourth in Sydney, responded with 67.02 with her penultimate throw.
World champion Irina Yatchenko won bronze after managing 66.17.
