Default Roman Scorpio - C.A 1st-4th Centuries AD

So yeah, Planning to build a new scorpion for myself and maybe donate it to my re-enactment group - looking for designs etc. Here's a base image:

This says cheiroballista but that's obviously wrong because this isn't hand-held.

    Another pic -
This is one done by re-enactors and what I plan to do - 'bout 4 feet, steel housing rather than bronze, made of fir or something. WOuld use yew but that's rare and expensive, although the most historically accurate.

I feel sorry for the next door-to-door preacher or salesperson to knock at Aetius' door... haha
Spoiler Alert, click show to read:
What have the Romans ever done for us?? apart from better sanitation and medicine and education and irrigation and public health and roads and a freshwater system and baths and public order... what have the Romans done for us?
    Some of my favourite quotes:
"Your god has yet to prove himself more merciful than his predecessors" ~ Hypatia, as represented in the film 'Agora'
"If you choose to do nothing, they will continue to do this again and again, until there is no-one left in the city, no people for this governement to govern"
~ Hypatia, as represented in the film 'Agora'

    I want one too.

Do any of you own any Roman equipment, as in, a spatha, a lorica hamata or something?

No but I'm still considering firing a Toaster out of it. We're gonna donate it to a museum so it's tax deductible. When we're finished with it, of course.

We're gonna donate it to the legion, as no museums around here are world history. The Legion offers a 501c3 since part of their stuff is ministry. So I've been talking with their engineer and got some specs. I also managing to gget a copy of the video they made when they built their first ballista, not the scorpio though.
