Ginga Music:

The Ginga music is used on the fundamental movement of Capoeira that keeps the capoeirista in motion with its main instrument, the Berimbau a single string instrument. In this track, I’ve used claps, bongos, various percussion and an acoustic bass to give a modern sound to the Ginga music for Capoeira Roda .

Capoeira Music Songs:

The first version of this Ginga music for Capoeira Roda was first created in 1999 for local use of some capoeiristas in Rio de Janeiro and was never released to the public. This exclusive version is very different and it has a new sound and brand new rhythm. This Capoeira music track keeps the capoeiristas in constant motion while performing the ginga and is also a modern capoeira music that can be used for presentations, sports, broadcasting, videos or other multimedia projects.

About the Berimbau:

The Berimbau is the main instrument used in capoeira music that is followed by other traditional instruments like the Pandeiro, Atabaque, Agogo and Ganza. Beaing a single string instruments, the Berimbau is not used alone but in groups of three. The capoeristas folow the toque of the Berimbau when Ginga or Roda is performed in the game of capoeira.

Roots of Capoeira music

The martial arts are known as being the traditional Brazilian Martial Art but the roots are originating from the slaves of Brazil that came from Angola so the percussion have some influences from the African cultures. The slaves invented this martial art by combining dance with acrobatics. After the slavery ended in 1888 the Capoeira was prohibited in Brazil for 52 years and was legalized in 1940. Today this is one of the main Brazil attractions for tourists from all over the world.
