Coyote-Powered 1967 Ford Mustang Fastback 6-Speed

This 1967 Ford Mustang Fastback was built on May 26th, 1967, and delivered new to Gene Graham Ford in Schenectady, New York. The car was refurbished and modified in 2021 by Shines Customs of Dandridge, Tennessee, with a B Rod or Custom replacement chassis as well as a custom interior and bodywork. Finished in red with brown stripes over two-tone black and brown leather upholstery, the car is powered by a Coyote 5.0L V8 mated to a T56 Magnum six-speed manual transmission and a Currie 9” TwinTrac rear end with 3.70:1 gearing. Additional equipment includes a Borla Eight-Stack fuel injection kit, a Holley EFI system, power rack-and-pinion steering, staggered-diameter Schott wheels, RideTech adjustable coilovers, and Wilwood four-wheel disc brakes with Baer six-piston calipers as well as a Vintage Air climate control system, Dakota Digital instrumentation, and a Kenwood touchscreen head unit. The car is said to have received a number of car show awards in 2021 and 2022, and it was acquired by the selling dealer in 2023. This modified Mustang fastback is now offered with a copy of Mustang Hub magazine featuring the car as as well as a Deluxe Marti report, refurbishment photos, build records, and a clean Florida title.

The body was removed from the frame and fitted with replacement sheet metal as part of the aforementioned refurbishment. A Shelby-style hood with a scoop was installed along with a custom-fabricated grille, lower bodywork, and integrated front and rear spoilers. The exterior is said to have been finished in Randy Apple Red with Dark Chocolate over-the-top stripes accented by white pinstriping. Replacement tinted glass has been fitted throughout, and further details include a Ringbrothers carbon-fiber front valance, side mirrors, door handles, sail scoops, body-color bumpers, “GT550SC” rocker panel stripes, black-and-bronze-finished trim, LED lighting, and remote keyless entry. The selling dealer states that paint protection film has been applied to the front and lower body.

Ten-spoke 18″ and 20″ Schott wheels are finished in bronze with polished lips and wrapped in Continental Extreme Contact tires measuring 245/40 up front and 285/30 out back. The factory frame has been replaced with a B Rod or Custom full chassis that features adjustable RideTech coilovers at all four corners, SPC Performance adjustable front upper control arms, and a triangulated four-bar rear suspension set up. The car is equipped with a front sway bar as well as power rack-and-pinion steering, and stopping power is provided by red-finished Baer six-piston calipers over Wilwood drilled and slotted discs. An E-Stopp electric parking brake is installed.

The cabin houses front bucket powered seats and folding rear seats that have been reupholstered in black and brown leather with contrasting stitching and brass rivets that extends to the door panels. Sound deadening material lines the floors along with black carpet, while a center console houses a Vintage Air climate control panel, a Hurst shifter, a USB outlet, power window switches, and cupholders. Brushed-aluminum trim adorns the black dashboard, and a Kenwood touchscreen head unit featuring navigation and Apple CarPlay compatibility is connected to a Rockford Fosgate trunk-mounted amplifier and dual subwoofers. Additional appointments include aluminum clutch and brake pedals along with a Mustangs to Fear roll bar and seatbelts for four occupants.

A leather-wrapped Billet Specialties steering wheel is mounted to an Ididit tilt column and fronts Dakota Digital instrumentation consisting of a 160-mph speedometer, a tachometer, and auxiliary gauges. The digital odometer shows 2,200 miles, which is said to reflect the distance traveled since completion of the refurbishment. Total mileage is unknown.

The firewall, inner fenders, and radiator support were custom fabricated and a matte-finish was applied to the body-color metal surfaces prior to the installation of a second-generation 5.0-liter Coyote V8 crate engine from Ford Performance. Further equipment and modifications include a Borla Eight Stack fuel injection kit, a Holley HP EFI system, a Griffin aluminum radiator, dual electric fans, Coyote-branded valve covers, and a Vintage Air Front Runner accessory drive system. Custom graphics were bead-rolled into the hood, which is held open by black-finished Ringbrothers aluminum hinges.

Power is sent to the rear wheels via a Tremec T56 Magnum six-speed manual transmission that is equipped with a Quick Time bellhousing and connected to a Dynotech driveshaft and a Currie 9” TwinTrac rear end with 31 spline axles and 3.70 gears. The limited-slip differential was rebuilt in preparation for the sale, and a hydraulic clutch as well as a stainless-steel fuel tank are installed. The wrapped dual exhaust system features Stainless Works headers, an H-pipe, and Magnaflow Mufflers.
