No Reserve: 1980 UAZ 469B

This 1980 UAZ 469B served as a Russian military reserve truck until 1989 when it was purchased by the seller. Originally powered by a 2.5L gas inline-four, a new Mercedes-Benz 300D diesel inline-five crate engine was professionally installed in 1997, with power sent to all four wheels through a 4-speed manual transmission and two-speed transfer case. The truck was refinished once in its current olive green, and has a camouflage patterned soft top on the original frame. The truck was then placed into storage from 1998-2015 and was not used during that time. It was made roadworthy again with some deferred maintenance addressed in the last couple years, and it is now offered for sale with a clean Florida title in the seller’s name.

The UAZ-469 was the company’s most well-known model, and was first manufactured exclusively for military and commercial use before being made available for civilian purchase in the late 1980s. The seller states there is corrosion on the bottom of the left front fender, on the bottoms of the rear doors, and on the left rear fender. This example is fitted with a patterned camouflage soft top and grated metal top frame.

Gauges are neatly organized on the metal dash and a heater unit can be seen just above the transmission tunnel. The seller states that the instrumentation functions as intended and the truck currently shows approximately 9,650 kilometers (~6,000 miles), though true mileage is unknown.

A 3.0L diesel inline-five crate engine for a 1982 Mercedes-Benz 300D was installed in 1997, and is backed by a 4-speed manual transmission with a two-speed transfer case. The truck received new brakes, an oil change, fresh transmission fluid, and new belts after it was pulled from storage in 2015.
