First responders injured after fire truck crash on way to Fort Worth house fire

A team of first responders who were en-route to a house fire were involved in a crash Tuesday.

The firefighters with the Fort Worth Fire Department were taken to hospitals after their truck flipped on its side during the crash, according to officials.

Four firefighters were in the fire truck and were injured - one injury was considered "critical."

That firefighter is listed in "critical condition."

A spokesperson for the fire department said the second firefighter remains in stable condition and two other firefighters were released from the hospital.

The accident happened near the intersection of Village Creek and Wilbarger around 2:34 a.m.

According to a post, the crew was heading to a house fire when they crashed. It appears no other vehicles were involved.

A separate fire engine responded to the fire.

The cause of the accident is under investigation by the Fort Worth Police Department.

The firefighters in the crash were not identified.

Our foremost priority is supporting the wellbeing of our firefighters and their families in this difficult moment,” said Fort Worth Fire Chief Jim Davis, “We appreciate the support and prayers of the Fort Worth community as we stand by the injured and their families.

Fort Worth Mayor Mattie Parker asked the community for its prayers as the injured firefighters recover and heal.
