From the Office of the Mayor

As Mayor, I am proud to welcome you to the City of Peshtigo’s official website. Peshtigo is historically known as “The City Rebuilt from Ashes”, as it had the worst recorded forest fire in North America, claiming over 1,000 lives.

I invite you to join us for our city celebrations and events, Bands at Badger, Christmas in July, Peshtigo River Blues, and our Peshtigo Historical Day. Please check our calendar and the Chamber of Commerce website for dates and information on these and other events.

We are really looking for a hardware store to operate in our City.  There are several properties available and I, as Mayor, will do everything I can to assist anyone who wants to locate a hardware store here in Peshtigo.

Peshtigo is growing rapidly as one of the most industrious small cities around. In the past 17 years, Peshtigo has developed a 241 acre Industrial Park and privately owned lots. To compliment expansion, the City has two loans available (R.L.F. and U.D.A.G.) which exist to provide business and industry financial assistance to locate, expand, and continue operations in the City.

Peshtigo is a great place to start or expand a business.  We are proud that our local government and elected officials work with area businesses to help with both new ventures and expansion.  We have commerical and industrial properties available at a reasonable price (click here for listings).  In addition there are several privately owned properties in and near the City.  With the help of the Peshtigo Area Economic Development Corporation, (PAEDC). We are confident that we can find something that meets your needs.  The Peshtigo area is also served by the Marinette County Association for Business and Industry, Inc.  The MCABI serves as a business resource for Marinette County and provides valuable information.

Because I am an avid fisherman and hunter, I appreciate the luxury of having the Peshtigo river flow thru the heart of the City. This allows me to catch various species of fish without leaving the City limits and hunt without driving great distances.

Personally, I feel Peshtigo is the perfect place to live, work, raise a family, vacation, and retire. We have an excellent school system, Police Department, Fire Department, City Crew, Parks program, and yet have a low tax base compared with most cities our size.
