7805 L78S05CV High Output 2A +5v Voltage Regulator 3-Pin TO-220 5v

3-Terminal 5V regulator, used in a multitude of game consoles and computers. Upgraded 2A version of the standard 0.5A / 1A 7805.

Note that leads may be slightly larger than original 500ma / 1A regulators.

What about the L78S05CV-DG version mentioned on other websites?  DG stands for "dual gauge", which means the heat sink tab is thicker.  These have been obsolete since 2006 as testing by ON semiconductor showed no performance benefits.
