Michiel Huisman is suddenly everywhere.
The actor and musician has been appearing on film and popping up in TV shows for more than a decade, but recently it feels like you can’t change the channel (or log on to twitter) without hearing about the tall, rustically handsome Dutchman. He’s starring opposite Blake Lively in The Age of Adaline, popping up again in the new season of Orphan Black, and he’s conquering the heart of the mother of dragons, Daenerys Targaryen, on Game of Thrones. Huisman’s so hot that even Hollywood starlet Anna Kendrick wants a piece of him.

Treme (2010-2013)
Michiel Huisman has long been a successful actor and musician in his native Netherlands, but American audiences first met him as a street musician with a heart of gold (and a serious drug problem) on Treme. Huisman played Sonny on the HBO series for all four seasons. [Watch Treme]
Nashville (2012-2014)
As Treme wrapped up, another musical drama — Nashville — jumped at the chance to snap Huisman up. Huisman was cast as Liam McGuinnis, an edgy rocker who Rayna (Connie Britton) appeals to in season one to help her revamp her musical image. Orphan Black (2014 – Now)
Huisman became a recurring character in Orphan Black‘s second season and he’s signed on for guest appearances in the slick sci fi’s third season. Huisman plays Cal Morrison. He’s Sarah’s former flame and the father of her daughter, Kira. Sarah turns to him for help and he gets pulled into the show’s crazy clone world. Many of the clones think he’s hot. Why? Wild (2014)
Last year, it started to look like Michiel Huisman was developing a niche: he’s always popping up as a strong heroine’s ruggedly handsome love interest. This happened on the big screen in Wild. In the middle of Cheryl Strayed (Reese Witherspoon)’s epic trek across the Pacific Crest Trail, she stops in a town and meets a hot sensitive dude who invites her to a concert. Game of Thrones (2014 – Now)
Of course, if you know Michiel Huisman from anywhere, it’s the hit show Game of Thrones. Huisman came on the show last season and replaced Ed Skrein as Dany’s sworn sellsword and hot new lover, Daario Naharis. We think that he’s proved himself up to the challenge of the part.
