Francesc Català Roca, Elephant Slide, 1975

What does your version of weekend fun look like? Here’s a little glimpse at ours: a gloriously graphic elephant slide on a beach in Girona, Spain. It was captured by the Spanish photographer Francesc Català-Roca, an acclaimed documenter of landscapes, cityscapes and expertly composed scenes of everyday life. We may be a little biased, but given the excellent potential of a trunk to double as a slide, it seems strange that there aren’t more elephantine climbing frames to be found.
