Leporinus acutidens is a species of anostomid fish. It is found in the Amazon River basin and Guiana rivers in South America. It has also been reported from Argentina.[2]

Description[edit]

Leporinus acutidens can reach a standard length of 33.0 centimetres (13.0 in).[2]

Reproduction[edit]

Females become sexually mature after two year and males after one year. They reproduce between November and March and females can produce from 100,000 to 200,000 eggs when spawning.[2]
