The Argentine joined the Rossoneri on loan last month after the Diavolo finally admitted defeat in their attempts to sign Manchester City’s Carlos Tevez.

“When the Milan deal was still not totally wrapped up, I met Bologna Vice-President Maurizio Setti,” Andrea D’Amico told Odeon TV.

“We spoke and he told me that Bologna could be interested in the player if his move to Milan collapsed.

“It was just an intention though and nothing more than that.”

Lopez, 27, has made two League appearances for the Diavolo since his switch from Sicilian club Catania.
