Tomo Vinković was a Yugoslav foundry and machine factory based in Bjelovar (present-day Croatia), mainly known for its small articulated tractors called "Tomo Vinković", which were made under licence from the Italian company Pasquali.
History
The company was founded on 17 January 1960, when companies Metal (founded on 12 March 1953) was renamed Tomo Vinković. Initially, the company continued the work carried out by the previous company. In 1961, the company increased its investments and bought some new equipment from Poland. Later, in 1964, two production lines were formed, namely the iron foundry and the machine building. In 1965, the first discussions with Pasquali representatives on the production of motor cultivators and simple tractors started. From that time on, the first P.E.-14 and later P.E.-15 motocultivators and TV-15 and TV-18 small articulated tractors were produced. The first articulated tractor was thus built in 1968 and was the result of a cooperative effort between several Yugoslav companies. In 1972, the production facilities were enlarged and the independent development and production of new tractor models began. In 1976, the first tractors of the TV-418, TV-521 and TV-730 models were produced, and these were manufactured until 1981. After that year, the models were replaced by newer models, designated TV-419, TV-522 and TV-731. The tractors were also exported to Poland, Czechoslovakia and Portugal.
The company was later renamed Prima.
Interesting fact
When the President of Yugoslavia, Josip Broz Tito, visited the factory, he received a TV-18 tractor as a gift, which was then used in Brioni.
