Nepeta cataria – Catnip. Fine Art Print. Catnip is a hardy perennial in zones 3-10 that is favored by felines. The plant will grow 2-3 feet tall and blooms from May to September. Catnip is considered a nectar butterfly plant. I have three cats and for some reason my catnip plant remains intact. That being said most cats would have left several bite marks in the plant.
