One Health, One Welfare, One Ceva

For more than a decade, Ceva has proudly promoted the benefits of One Health and Welfare, recognizing that the health of people, animals and our planet are totally
interconnected.

Our ‘Together beyond animal health’ first launched in 2010 set Ceva on course to become a One Health business based on the sound principles of preventaive health. This was the year that we also created our first animal welfare awards in the UK, an initiative that we later extended to a global level through our partnership with the World Veterinary Association. In that period our business has moved from just over 25% vaccines to close to 50% today and we are now one of the proud frontrunners of swine vaccination in Europe. Innovation remains a high priority but not just in our products but in the social impact we can help create.

For example, as we enter a new decade, the 20's, we see much more emphasis being placed on the value of animal agrobiodiversity. A recent FAO report estimated that the world's animal protein production relies on just 40 species, a very narrow base given the rapid emergence of new diseases as our climate warms and which we all help to spread with increased travel.  Over the last 8 years we have supported pioneering work with partners in France that has literally saved several species from extinction, including the iconic “Bordelaise cow” from our home cregion.

Frontiers in Veterinary Science is a global, peer-reviewed, Open Access journal that bridges animal and human health, brings a comparative approach to medical and surgical challenges, and advances innovative biotechnology and therapy. With an Impact Factor of 3.412, it is ranked 9th out of 141 journals in the field.

Veterinary research today is interdisciplinary, collaborative, and socially relevant, transforming how we understand and investigate animal health and disease. Fundamental research in emerging infectious diseases, predictive genomics, stem cell therapy, and translational modelling is grounded within the integrative social context of public and environmental health, wildlife conservation, novel biomarkers, societal well-being, and cutting-edge clinical practice and specialization.
