At any time of year, Starved Rock State Park features a captivating paradise, but when winter’s chill freezes the cascading waterfalls, this ecological cosmos becomes a wonderland to behold.

Must-see frozen waterfalls include those at St. Louis Canyon and Wildcat Canyon – some of the most impressive waterfalls in the Utica park. Many ice climbers test their skills on these frozen falls, while others come just to admire the glacial wonders. Starved Rock State Park has 13 miles of hiking trails, several waterfalls and eight different canyons accessible to visitors by green-marked trails.
