See what Wroclaw looked like in July 1977: flooded streets, submerged cars, sandbags on the Oder riverfront in photos by photographer Mieczyslaw Michalak, the then mayor of Wroclaw Bogdan Zdrojewski (aerial photos, in the collection of the Ossoline National Institute) and the "Memory and Future" Center.

In the evening, around 8 pm, the area around the Central Station went under water. The efficient action of volunteers, who, among other things, barricaded the entrances, ensured that the station building was not flooded.
