The Secrets of Secondhand Racer: GSX-R1000 Custom
FUYUKI Spl.'s GSX-R1000
The 3rd round of the JD-STAR Drag Race in August 2022. A meeting was planned for owners to get together in support of the GSX-Rs that will be competing in the race. A wide variety of GSX-Rs were gathered, from the early GSX-R1100 to the 2021 Suzuki 100th anniversary color GSX-R1000R. This bike belongs to "Fuyuki," the organizer of the meeting, 2011 GSX-R1000 = L1.
After purchasing an L1 with 10,000 km on the clock, Fuyuki has driven this bike for touring and on the street for about 30,000 km in the past two years. The brake system and suspension have been customized, expanding the range of riding including track racing.
Electrical
Headlights are converted to HID. The windshield is Puig, the cowl bolts are flat-headed and the clutch master is fitted with a Brembo RCS.
Handle
The handlebars are HURRICANE clip-on handlebars and the front master is fitted with a GALE SPEED VRE.
Bodyworks
While the exterior is in its stock form, the front side and tail side are replaced with carbon. The fender eliminator kit will also be carbonised.
Engine
Stock L1 engine with GB Racing cover and RAPiDBIKE-EAZY added. Step kit is Valter Moto for street.
Chassis
The front forks are GSX-R1000L1 stock, and the front brake is combination of Brembo CNC P4 30/34 calipers and SUNSTAR Works expand brake discs.
Front and rear wheels are forged aluminium GALE SPEED Type-R 3.50-17/6.00-17. The rear brakes are Brembo CNC P2 34 with SUNSTAR premium racing discs. The rear shock is Ohlins TTX and the exhaust system has been replaced with OHNISHI HEAT MAGIC slip-ons.
