The multihyphenate is clearly not concerned about getting older.

While society has conditioned women to fear the process of getting older, it appears that Jennifer Lopez is not concerned with the matter.

The two-time Grammy Award nominee landed one of Elle’s three December/January magazine covers, and in an accompanying feature story, Lopez opened up about everything from her highly-anticipated forthcoming album, This Is Me... Now, to her production company, Nuyorican Productions. The 54-year-old mom of twins also divulged her thoughts on aging, which were incredibly refreshing.

“As you get older and you have more experience, you become a richer human being and you have more to offer,” Lopez stated. “The idea of, ‘There’s nothing really valuable about watching a woman over 30’ is so ridiculous, it’s the opposite of right. It just makes me laugh.”

The “Jenny From the Block” singer added that she sees no end in sight for her career, and hypothesized that she could continue working well into her 90s.

“People have realized that women just get sexier as they get older,” Lopez told the publication. “They get more learned and more rich with character. All of that is very beautiful and attractive, and not just physically, but on the inside, the beauty that you gain as you get older, the wisdom you gain.”

It’s clear that Lopez has no intention of slowing down, and we’re thrilled for what’s next. Her ninth studio album, which comes out on Feb. 16, 2024, is a sequel to her 2002 project, This Is Me... Then. Both projects were largely influenced by her relationship with husband Ben Affleck.
