Our Capoeira classes are guaranteed to challenge your physical and mental limits through unique, fun and complex self-defense movements and exercises. NOTE: Wed. and Sat. classes are at two different locations. Wednesday: 7-8:30pm @ 62 Orchard street, NY Saturday: 12-3pm @ 134 West 29th street, NY Ginga Capoeira USA is unlike any other martial art school and system of self-defense because of our unique methods of teaching the movements of Capoeira. Ginga Capoeira USA is founded upon a philosophy of resistance through self-defense and flow. We teach our students how to defend themselves while maintaining their flow and style of Capoeira Regional. Our classes are inherently incredibly fun and challenging work-outs for your mind and body.

Lauren V.Laguna Beach, CA7121Mar 15, 2016First to ReviewI started taking Capoiera two weeks ago with Formado Nick and Mestre Kiki in their other location in Chinatown (62 orchard st) on Mondays and Wednesday nights. Class at this location is taught Saturday from 12-1:30pm; the first hour is spent warming up, and practicing/learning moves and typically the last 30min is spent in the roda 'playing' (which is where you get to put all the moves you learned into play).
Formado Nick is the instructor Saturday's and he is great at teaching beginners and keeping everyone injury free.-And he and the class have been very welcoming to new comers. If you are looking for a total body/mind reset this is your sport- and most importantly these are your people.
Additionally, the studio we practice in is nice, clean, in a really easily accessible and safe neighborhood and has all the tools to train safely and effectively.
