Maroco Kennels

I dropped my dog off here for a weekend, and I was very pleasantly surprised when I picked her up. No anxiety, no stress and she almost didn't want to leave. Colleen appears to be the sole owner and worker here, which is nice because your dog gets individualized attention. Colleen was able to provide me feedback on my dogs behavior during my absence, which is something you don't get at larger kennel operations. Colleen professionally trains hunting dogs, so she has a deeper understanding of how to take care of dogs.

Very reasonably priced too! Will definitely be bringing my dog back here.

My dog is 13 years old and she had never been in a kennel before so I was very nervous about leaving her anywhere.
Maroco Kennel was great and I feel so much better now that we're at the end of our adventure. Maroco Kennel provided excellent service and care which helped enhance the week.
Colleen (owner) was professional and kind. Her kennels were very clean indoors and outside. I can tell that my dog was well cared for during my absence and I am grateful. My dog fell in love with one of the balls she used to play with her during her stay and Colleen kindly sent it home with my dog.
An additional benefit for my dog and myself... my dog has always been an inside dog (from years of apartment living and only accompanied walks). Now that I have a fenced backyard, she didn't like to be out there alone. I believe that she had open access from her Maroco kennel to the doggie play yard.l. I first noticed her increased comfort level with being outdoors the day after we returned home. She just seemed more relaxed outside. Later, when we were inside, she ran into the screen door because she wanted to go outside (alone). I was surprised so I let her out and she played alone in the yard for the first time. Yeah! It's great to see this new relaxed side to her.

Took our dogs here for the first time. Lots of space for the dogs to move. Large indoor kennel area with outdoor areas for exercise. Rural setting. All dogs on premise seemed happy and well cared for. Owner friendly, informative and appeared well capable of handling our dogs. All sizes and types of dogs were present. Our dogs stayed for five days and appeared to have enjoyed being there. Will definitely return on our next trip out of town.

Maroco Kennels provides a first class experience every time I leave my pups with their professional staff. I travel for work often so I have used multiple boarding homes in Yuma. I gauge the quality of each based upon cleanliness of facilities, space for active outdoor play and number of dogs per caregiver. My dogs are my family so I would only entrust them to a boarding kennel that put their health and well being as priority #1. Maroco Kennels rates are by far the most competitive in town as well.

Its located in a more rural part of Yuma but I believe this is a positive because it affords the kennel the ability to utilize their acreage to take the dogs out periodically throughout the day.

Colleen is amazing with both dogs and cats. I have been boarding with her since moving to Yuma in 2013. My dog Shasta is always happy when she arrives and is happy when I am there to pick her up. Colleen is always accessible to you by phone and text and communicates pick up and drop off times. I am thankful to have found Maroco Kennels and have referred friends to her.

The owner is easy to get a hold of and friendly. It easy to make a reservation and arrange pick up/ drop off times. She also helps with training.

I can't say enough about this place and the owner Colleen. I have been bringing my dog eckhoo here for over a year now. She is a stressed out German shepherd and very skittish. Whether I leave her there for two days or a month she is always relaxed and happy when I return. She has never gotten sick there either which is a plus. I would never dream about taking her anywhere else.
