Ted Kaczynski the Unabomber

Oh Ted! He was a prodigy! A historic Havard student at the age of 16 to leave graudating with a Ph. D in mathematics to only become a bomber. But I’m not here to judge.

I’m currently reading a book titled “Zero to One” by Peter Thiel and according to the book sources Kaczynski became a bomber because

“ in order to be happy, every individual needs to have goals whose attainment requires effort, and needs to succeed in attaining at least some of his goals.” Then he divided the human goals into a trichotomy:

  1. Goals that can be satisfied by minimum effort;
  2. Goals that can be satisfied by serious effort; and
  3. Goals that cannot be satisfied, no matter how much effort one makes.

Kaczynski looked around and claimed everyone as “depressed people” because he see’s the world’s hardest problems were solved by our founding fathers of education so he though destroying those accomplishments and having the society start all over again was the solution.

But…

No it wasn’t the right choice. In the flip side of the story for the business aspects it’s true that most “hard” problems have been solved but we got to know there is still more to discover. The fact of restarting is only a setback for all of us. In the business field as an entrepreneur use someone accomplishments as a goal to surpass the product and bring something much better to the consumers. Which leads me to speaking about innovation. Innovation is never old. No matter what century we in things keep enhancing and for some it’s hard to even catch up. But, to have the idea of restarting (piper bomber like Ted) just because someone made a great accomplishment… well you making a poor choice.
