While throwing the wastes have you ever imagined ‘what can be made from these’?? Well a whole garden of 40 acres. Too much right… The Rock Garden of Chandigarh has a huge number of sculptures(roundabout 5000 statues) made up of waste material like bottles, papers, bangles, tiles, auto parts, frames, wires and so on…

This is one of the prime attractions and must visit place in Chandigarh. A perfect destination for art lovers. Nek Chand started building this near Sukhna lake in the year 1957 in his free time(secretly).

The garden is divided into 3 sections each one having different and specific structures. The first section has statues of birds, animals and human figure installed made out of waste. The second section is the interlinked-waterfall also the one having open theatres where cultural events are organized. The beautiful waterfall attracts the most of the crowd. This section also has a small village. The third and the last section is consist of huge elephants and camels, not the real one but the statues.

When you are here take your time to observe each and every section because this is not a place to visit in hurry. The effort put on every art piece here deserves your time and appreciation. Plan your visit by opting taxi booking in Chandigarh from Savaari during one of the many cultural events held here and leave with some awesome memories and stories to make your friends jealous… The Teej festival is quite famous by the way. Also it has an aquarium and laughing mirrors to make your day a memorable one.
