Tom Hanks’ son Chet debuts huge cross tattoo, says his life’s purpose is to ‘serve God’

Chet Hanks debuted his brand new ink — and it’s a nod to the large religious presence in his life.

The son of Oscar winner Tom Hanks and singer Rita Wilson, who was a self-professed atheist before converting to Christianity over a decade ago, is now using his platform to spread the holy word far and wide.

In an effort to do so, the actor, 32, wiped all posts from his Instagram Wednesday and instead posted a photo showcasing the massive tattoo of a cross.

In the since-deleted post, Chet proclaimed that his life’s “purpose” is to serve God as he showed off a massive holy inking in the middle of his chest.

“I have been in character for as long as I’ve been in the public eye,” he wrote to his 530,000 followers on the platform.

“I’ve played many roles and worn many masks. Actor. Rapper. Fitness guy. Lambo guy. None of them are the real me.”

Chet said he had been “an expert at playing the fool because I learned it as a survival mechanism.”

“But the more I look around at the world I see that the world doesn’t need any more caricatures. False depictions of who we think we need to be,” he went on.

“There’s only one thing the world needs more of and that’s God.”

Chet said the trouble he had found himself in in the past was a direct result of the absence of God in his life.

“‘All the pain in my life has resulted from one thing — the lie of believing that my purpose is anything but just serving God,’ the sober star wrote,” he wrote.

“It’s not fully clear to me yet how I can best serve Him but I feel that this level of honesty is a starting point. And I know He will continue to reveal more,” he concluded his now-deleted post.

In 2021, Chet recalled the moment “God revealed Himself to me” when he was 17 and an atheist.

During a hike while away at a 12-week camp in Utah, the then-teen said he “was touched by the hand of God.”

“All that anger, and that hate, and that resentment flipped. It inverted to just infinite hope, gratitude, peace, love. It just flipped on a dime, like that,” he said on Logan Paul’s “IMPAULSIVE” podcast.

“And I was so overcome by emotion, I just sat at the edge of that cliff and I wept. I wept for an hour, uncontrollable weeping for like an hour. It did not cease, but tears of joy,” he continued.

“Tears of everything, feeling every emotion at once, all the pain and all the joy.”
