‘Jackass’ alum Bam Margera is engaged to Dannii Marie after getting sober: ‘It’s just a perfect thing’

Bam Margera is getting ready to walk down the aisle.

The “Jackass” alum, who has been in the news the last few years for his struggles with substance abuse, announced Wednesday he proposed to his girlfriend of six months, Dannii Marie.

“We’re just a really good team,” he told Us Weekly.

“I never had structure before,” he explained of their dynamic.

“I always woke up not knowing what to do with the day … I would just look across the street, see an Irish pub and be like, ‘That looks like fun.'”

“Now I wake up, I walk the dogs, I stretch, I go to the gym, I go skateboarding,” the 44-year-old reality star gushed.

“Everything’s a structured fun schedule. And we do it together, and it’s just a perfect thing.”

Margera first met Marie in June, and she encouraged him to get sober. He asked for her hand in marriage in October.

Marie, meanwhile, gave Us Weekly insight into the beginning stages of their romance and how she helped Margera sober up.

“He went through [detox] and I didn’t go anywhere,” she proudly noted.

“We stayed in this beautiful crystal infested pool house where we just healed, all of us, and we shut the phones off.”

“He didn’t have a phone,” she continued. “I changed his number and we just X’d the bad people and here we are.”

Margera had been placed on a 5150 psychiatric hold for three days after he was found by police acting erratically at Los Angeles’ Trejo’s Tacos joint around the same time Marie entered his life.

The week prior, he threatened his ex-wife Nicole Boyd that he would “smoke crack” until he died unless she let him see their son, Phoenix, whom they welcomed in 2017.

Boyd filed for legal separation from Margera in February after a decade of marriage.

However, the pro skateboarder claimed in court documents that he never legally married Boyd.

“As an initial matter, it was not until just recently that Nikki had ever heard Bam’s claim that they were never married,” her attorney, David Glass, told Page Six in response.

“She was told that the wedding would occur in Iceland and that it was all taken care of. She had a wedding ceremony, and then returned to the U.S. and lived like a married couple with Bam for years.”

Amid the divorce drama, Margera dated a woman named Jessica for an unknown amount of time before moving on with Marie.
