Fl#01-Mandrake (Mandragora Officinarum)

Name: Mandrake (Mandragora Officinarum)

Class: Dangerous

Designation: Flora

Description: A fat tuber beneath leafy, dark green vegetation. The mottled root resembles a crude human figure or homunculi.

Notes: Despite being highly poisonous and having a history as a medicinal plant, the Mandragora is best known for its folklore: the piercing, fatal scream audible only by the one who uprooted it.

Unsurprisingly, no one volunteered to uproot it without ear protection, and even then we had to draw straws. In the end, Jesper made the intern do it. The sound reportedly penetrated the ear defenders she wore, but she’s alive to complain about the headache. And Jesper has to fill out the Staff Endangerment form, ahahaha.
