Lunaria annua

Heirloom biennal from Grandma’s garden, compact green mounds are topped with fragrant magenta flowers (reminiscent of wallflowers) in mid spring followed by stems of flat papery pearl seedpods the size and shape of silver dollars...these can last for years in dried arrrangements! Sun to part shade, prefers moisture but survives some dry shade. Self sows. Attracts bees, hummers and butterflies.
