Adrienne Barbeau to receive New York City Horror Film Festival's Lifetime Achievement Award

Actress Adrienne Barbeau

American actress Adrienne Barbeau is to receive a Lifetime Achievement Award at the 14th annual New York City Horror Film Festival this year, in a nod to her contributions to the silver screen.

Barbeau, who first found fame on TV's hit sitcom "Maude", has since starred in a series of horror and genre films, including Romero's "Creepshow" and "Two Evil Eyes" and Wes Craven's "Swamp Thing."

The 2016 New York City Horror Film Festival will kick off on Thursday, November 10, with a screening of Darren Lynn Bousman's "Abattoir," followed by a string of selected horror films, including Jonathan Straiton's "Night of Something Strange," and Caradog W. James' "Don't Knock Twice."

Barbeau is scheduled to attend the festival in person to receive her Lifetime Achievement Award on Saturday, November 12, after that evening's program (via ComingSoon).
