Vivek Oberoi’s love story with his wife Priyanka Alva is nothing short of a Bollywood tale. The charming actor recently opened up about how he went from not wanting to get married, to ending up falling for his wife Priyanka on their first meeting!
Talking to the Humans of Bombay, Vivek divulged that he was blown away by the simplicity of Priyanka Alva, during their first meeting.
“She was in Italy, Florence, holidaying with her extended family. I took an evening flight. I was waiting in a cafe in Florence. I have only seen pictures, and I see this girl walking towards me, and the first thing I noticed was her flat chappals. She was wearing simple linen pants, and a simple top, with her hair tied up loosely into a bun and no makeup,” Vivek recalled.
Vivek Oberoi stated that he was impressed by Priyanka’s confidence, as at the end of the he is a movie star, which never bothered her.
The actor had agreed to meet Priyanka Alva, upon his mother’s insistence, however, he ended up loving the conversation. Vivek expressed that he was not in a phase to get into a relationship, as he has been hurt too much even to try, “I was in a space where I didn't want to marry at all. I was running away from any kind of potential pain. Because this doesn't end well. And I been hurt too much, and I want to keep away from this. I didn't want somebody coming close to me. I was in that zone.”
However, everything changed when he met Priyanka. The charming actor eventually found love in an arranged marriage, which is very unlike him. The conversation at the cafe in Florence, got extended to a walk by the river, and he adds, “She asked me to talk about me. I told her I am actor, and the rest is there on Google. But what she said next, changed my whole perspective. She told me that just what you do, tell me what you are. “

The conversation went on, and Vivek Oberoi expressed that he broke out of the trance at 2 am, only to realize that he missed his flight! The couple got married in 2010.
