Former Blaugrana Maxi Lopez: 'Ronaldinho kicked the door of my house to get me out and integrate'

Former Barcelona striker Maxi Lopez has revealed how Ronaldinho helped him settle down when he arrived at Camp Nou in 2004.

He revealed on Fox's 90 minutes of Soccer program: "I came to Barcelona in my first experience in Europe at a squad with many important players and they sat me next to Ronaldinho.

"He helped me on and off the field. He would come home and kick me at the door because in the first months it was difficult for me to integrate, to enter into the dynamics of everything, and he would come to look for me, he would take me to eat… He would take me from here to there.”

Lopez also revealed that the Brazilian did the same with countryman Lionel Messi.

He added: "Ronaldinho was always like this, he did it with me, with Messi, always with incredible joy.

"We are still in contact with him, with Rafa Márquez, Giuly, Thiago Motta, Belletti … We put together a really good group, beyond what we achieved on the field."

Lopez made 19 appearances for Barca during his two-year spell in Catalonia, scoring twice and making three assists.

Ronaldinho, meanwhile, bagged 94 goals and 71 assists for the Catalan giants in 207 games.
