Gary Barlow has teased what fans can expect from Take That’s upcoming This Life tour.

Speaking with virginradio.co.uk and other press at the world premiere of Argylle, for which he is the songwriter, Gary revealed: “It’s a big show… we’re very proud of ourselves. We’ve done a stage design that we’ve never done before.

“We’re very keen to unveil that because a lot of our audience come because they know we put on a big show,” he continued. “And this, it won’t disappoint. They’ll be delighted.”

The singer-songwriter also explained that he no longer “really” gets nervous ahead of performing such big shows. “Two or three shows in and you’re fine then,” he said. “And we’ve got a lot of shows this year, so [it should be fine].”

On the topic of his work for the spy action-comedy film, which is directed by Kingsman’s Matthew Vaughn and stars Henry Cavill, Bryce Dallas Howard, Dua Lipa and Sam Rockwell to name just a few, Gary shared how he got involved with the project.

“About two years ago, I first saw the movie, and it had what they call ‘a temp’ - which is music they imagine would be in the place of it - and they wanted some original songs,” Gary revealed.

“So we wrote two original songs,” he said. “You never know until tonight, by the way, whether your songs are actually in the film, because often like a week before they’ll cut things out. So I’m always relieved when they go ‘They’re still in.’ [But] I’ve just heard one on the [red carpet] speakers, so I think they’re in!”

Gary revealed he collaborated with one of the film’s stars, Ariana Debose, on both of the songs which he wrote for the movie. ‘Electric Energy’ will also feature Boy George and Nile Rodgers, and a music video for the track will be released on Friday, 26th January. ‘Get Up and Start Again’ is the title of the other track Gary and Ariana worked on for the film.

Argylle will be released in cinemas on Friday, 2nd February.
