Museu Picasso is a museum full of drawings and paintings by the famous artist. The museum is housed in five palaces dating back to the 13th and 14th centuries. Opened in 1963, it was the first museum dedicated to Picasso's work. The permanent collection comprises more than 3,500 artworks. Most of them were donated by Jaime Sabartés - former secretary and a friend of Picasso.

Museu Picasso is a lovely museum which mainly exhibits Picasso’s early works. The museum is well arranged with his works displayed in room by age. This way you can see how his style chaged while he was maturing. We didn’t really like the rooms with the drawings, but there were plenty of paintings to admire anyway. We like the museum in Malaga better, but this sure is a museum to visit while you’re in the lovely city of Barcelona!
