Baumkircher, Andreas, Freiherr von Schlaining

Graz (Styria), April 23, 1471 (decapitated), mercenary leader. 1452 defended Wiener Neustadt against refractory nobles; 1468, however, was instrumental in an uprising of Styrian nobles against Emperor Friedrich III, supported by the Hungarian King Matthias Corvinus.
