Fifteen years after Lizzie McGuire went off the air, Hilary Duff is back in costume as her iconic alter ego.
In September, Duff debuted the blonde hair color that she planned to wear while shooting the reboot. Now, she's giving fans a look at the hairstyle — and Lizzie's bangs are back.
Duff posted a picture to her Instagram Stories that looks as though it was taken from the hair and makeup chair on set. She's got long bangs in a blunt, wispy chop, courtesy of stylist Sara Steward. The look is a departure from 15-year-old Lizzie's shorter, curled bangs, which makes sense. As you mature, your personal style is bound to change — hopefully for the better.
As great as Duff looks with bangs, judging from her latest Instagram photos, they aren't permanent. She's likely wearing clip-ins on set before returning to her real life as a bangs-free mom of two.

While we can expect grown-up Lizzie’s hair to have a few references to her old-school swag (butterfly clips, anyone?), Duff told Allure that she wanted the character to be more modern and trendy. "We want to give people the nods that they want," she said in an interview. "[Lizzie's] going to have that one splurge jacket that's going to stick with her all season long that she makes match with everything. She's going to be a flea market shopper and a Brooklyn cool girl."
Duff seems as excited as we are to meet Lizzie McGuire all grown up. Let's just hope she teaches us how to wear butterfly clips as a 30-something.
