I was a huge fan on C&C red alert2 and Yuris revenge. I played it for several years and it never got dull. Playing it on Playstation has a big learning curve and the game/ graphics just feel out of date. I think i'd rather play it on the PC where I dont have to toggle through all the command menus to get around.

This installment of the Red Alert series was new to me as recently as 2012 and being a long term fan since my early teens, I have to say I fell in love with this game on the ps3, it plays wonderfully well for a console RTS, and the fact that it has the classic red alert style of fast paced combat, fun storylines, an all star hollywood cast is totally wonderful, it works in so many ways, i really enjoy the PS Version of the game.

The plot is the usual three superpowers battling it out for world domination, with some very good twists, with Japan taking on a very si fi like approach, as the new faction, they really do make tough opponents, one of the levels saw my naval forces prepping for hours to launch a massive attack on a huge floating fortress, one of the coolest yet toughest missions in the game. Onto Navy Warfare itself, in this game its vastly improved from the first two, you can even set up an entire base on the water and just fight with amphibious units if you want, this adds a new dimension to the game, making it more fun and challenging, if for example you had to go after a huge enemy land base, and you didn't want them harassing you, the best option would be set up a base on the water, as almost every structure is capable of being placed there, and use your navy to attack them. Another cool feature of the new units is their multiple functions, destroyers for example can go on water and land, meaning you could even use them as tanks if you really wanted to.

The cast of actors in this installment is truly wonderful with some very big hollywood names, including Tim Curry and Johnathan Pryce, among others, plus many beautiful girls who help and aid you through the story as Units and supporting commanders, for example, The Allies have the classic Tanya, alongside a young aspiring Navy commander, Named Lisette who is an expert with navy warfare, and so on. Each faction has unique characters and supporting AI commanders who'll all aid you at somepoint, or if you choose them to help you in a custom battle you set up. They all have their chosen traits, Eg, Lisette is mostly suited to navy combat while Zhana favors air units.

The Ps3 ultimate edition is the best version of the game to buy, its very suited to the console, and comes packed with a lot of fun extras such as making of features and behind the scenes with the cast, and bloopers which in my opinion are really funny. The entire game gets a thumbs up from a long term fan of the series which has needed this reboot for a very long time, and it finally got the awesome sequel and new additions it truly deserves. Ignore the haters who got the pc version and never liked it, ( I admit I never did, but thats because i was way more suited to the Ps3 version) the classic era of RA is long gone, they need to get over it and accept it. This new era is just as good as the classic stuff, but in my opinion is ten times better. Buy this game, Trust me your in for a thrill ride.
