Arrived with a blemish in the glass coating

Arrived with a blemish in the glass coating
Arrived with a blemish in the glass coating. It's going back! It should have never left the Orion factory in Korea this way. I ordered another one, let's hope the second one is better. Performance remains to be seen; I need a good copy I can keep before I can evaluate it. Update: I received the second one a week later, and it is worse than the first. The second one has a scratch in the coating as well as two blemishes in the coating. Either these things are being used by people and then returned damaged, or the quality control in Korea is unacceptable. Orion needs to tighten up their QC. Performance of these is supposed to be great and rank right up there with Lumicon and the Thousand Oaks LP-3. I'd love to try it if I could get a good one. If the third one is bad I may just have to spend the money for a competing brand. It's a shame, too, because my Orion Moon and UltraBlock filters are quite nice, although it took two tries to get a clean UltraBlock as well.

I purchased this filter to help me see some of the more challenging Messier Nebula's. In particular, reflection and emission Nebula's are seen easier with this filter - and they are. I've enjoyed clearer views of some Nebula's.
The filter does darken the view, but the nebula is very clear (and fuzzy).

I recommend it as a filter for seeing certain Nebula's.

Had to return it...the threads didn't fit any of my Meade, Celestron or BST eyepieces. It just woudn't stay in.

I bought this product for my scope after using one that a friend had. For the money I must say it is not all that great. Everything you view has a blue tint to it. The one my friend had had no color change in the sky. I have an Orion telescope which I love and I expected the same quality out of this as well. It was a disappointment.
