American artist Brian Dettmer dissects a 29 x 42 x 33.5 cm book in Webster Withdrawn
In a process that is as much archaeological as sculptural, his cuts animate books as containers of concepts, complex worlds contained by the boundaries of their covers. The piece formed part of The Slice: Cutting to See, an exhibition on the relationship between the external and internal, held at London’s Architectural Association.
