It may not have a hot tin roof, but it was Newman’s own. A Colonial Revival-style Beverly Hills abode that was home to actors Paul Newman and Joanne Woodward is coming to market for $7.99 million, according to The Hollywood Reporter. The Long, Hot Summer stars, who were among the biggest names of Hollywood’s Golden Age, were married for 50 years until Newman’s 2008 death. Woodward, who was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s in 2007, turned 93 years old this year. The Oscar winners rented the 1937-built dwelling in the early 1960s. Their tenure at the property was immortalized by the New York Daily News, which photographed the two lounging in the roughly 4,300-square-foot house in 1962.

The four-bedroom, five-bathroom residence sits at the end of a brick-paved driveway on a gated 1.2-acre landscaped plot near Mulholland Drive. Behind its crisp white façade, the updated interior features a window-lined living room complete with a moody black marble fireplace and dark wood floors to match.

The home’s spacious blue and white kitchen centers around a marble island and connects to a walk-in pantry equipped with wine storage. Other highlights of the dwelling include vaulted ceilings, wooden built-ins, a formal dining room, an office nook, and another wood-burning fireplace that graces the primary bedroom.

A cabana-shaded patio on the home’s rooftop hosted an open-air gym the last time the parcel was listed. European-style gardens laced with walking paths and citrus trees can also be found outside, alongside space to dine al fresco, a bocce ball court, a swimming pool and spa overlooking the property, and a romantic loggia decked out with a barbecue, a sofa swing hoisted up with rope, an ivy-covered stone fireplace, and a candlestick-style chandelier.
