Nothing stands between a girl and her dreams, especially if the girl is Katie Price and said dream is auto related – and painted in the most delicious shade of hot pink.
Katie Price is perhaps the most famous glamour model and reality star in the UK. She got started as a glam girl for a local publication, working her way up to the echelons of showbiz with forays into reality television, music, fashion, and wellness. You might also know her as Jordan, a moniker she ditched when she stopped modeling for men's magazines.
Price is also famous for her love of cars, particularly if they're pink, as she likes to consider herself a sort of modern-day Barbie. She is also (in)famous for running into serious trouble with her finances, for her countless driving bans and DUI arrests, and these seem to come in direct contradiction with her love of cars, be they pink or not.
But they don't really.
Just a few days ago, Katie Price was officially declared bankrupt by a court over a standing tax debt amounting to a whopping £750,000, which is roughly $950,500 at the current exchange rate. But even if taxes might be the only inescapable thing in life aside from death, she's not letting them or debt get in the way of her dream of an all-pink new auto fleet.
The other day, short on the heels of the bankruptcy ruling, Price reposted a video of a hot pink Porsche 911 GT3 RS, with the implication that she'd love to own one herself or may even be considering one. Who wouldn't, you might ask? A 45-woman so bad with her money that she somehow squandered a £45 million ($57 million) fortune, was bankrupt twice, and recently had half of her cars repossessed, that's who.
Just last month, as she was facing another outstanding debt, Price had her mansion in Sussex visited by bailiffs, who left with five of her eight cars on trailers. Repoed vehicles included her infamous 2001 Suzuki Vitara she had turned into a Barbie vehicle and her daily black Range Rover.
When she's not facing money woes, Price is in and out of court over repeated driving bans – so many of them that she herself has lost count. But in a true "can't keep a good one down" spirit, not a single issue of these has stopped Price from fantasizing about getting a custom pink Ferrari and a pink Bentley as the start of that all-pink fleet.
This pink GT3 RS would also be a good fit, she seems to think. Perhaps funnier than a financially-strapped, unlicensed celebrity pretending she can still buy whatever she wants just for clout is the fact that the Porsche isn't even pink, to begin with. The video seems to use a filter to make it look hot pink, presumably to bank on the trend of Barbie-inspired cars.
The real vehicle seems to be a red and black GT3 RS that went up for sale with a luxury car dealer in June last year with just 50 km (31 miles) on the odo. The listing is no longer live, so it found a new home by the time it caught Price's attention, despite the $250,000 reported price tag.
