This intriguing vehicle, dubbed the H-UAZ and created by designer Alexsandr Isaev, shows what would happen if you were to combine a Hummer with a UAZ 2206, a Russian-made military vehicle built in the 1960s.

While there’s no chance such a Hummer and UAZ mishmash would ever see the light of day, it does have a unique appeal and looks about as rugged as a vehicle can get.

The overall shape of the off-roader is the first thing that strikes you. While familiar, in many ways, it’s also unlike any Hummer model but also very different than the original UAZ 2206 that took the shape of an upright minivan. With that being said, the H-UAZ does have a very square and boxy shape that bears a resemblance to some Hummer and UAZ models.

The front, for example, has almost no hood, likely because the engine is placed under the driver and front passenger seats. There is also a Hummer-style grille at the front as well as a pair of square-shaped headlights.

Elsewhere, it’s impossible not to notice the epic ground clearance the vehicle has, much like the 2206. The addition of short front and rear overhangs would also ensure it can get up steep inclines and down sharp declines with no issues.

The boxy design continues with flared front and rear wheel arches and a section of the roof that can be removed to turn the off-roader into a pickup truck.
