CARLOS HERNANDEZ

Science Teacher (Grades 6 and 8)

 

Bachelors in Psychology, University of South Florida
Masters in Curriculum and Instruction-Science Focus, University of Texas 

Carlos Hernandez joined Congressional School in 2018 as our STEM Educator and transitioned to our Grades 6 and 8 Science Teacher in the fall of 2020. Before coming to Congressional, he worked in Sarasota, Florida teaching Middle School Science. He also worked for Sarasota County Schools as the K-12 Science Curriculum Specialist. As a STEM Consultant for the Florida House Institute, a non-profit science museum, Carlos worked with the institute by designing exhibits as well as pre/post visit lessons for teachers. Most recently, he worked with Exceptional Student Education (ESE) and English Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL) students and taught STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) to 7th and 8th grade students.

In his spare time, Carlos enjoys hiking, scuba diving, kayaking, traveling, visiting museums, and going on adventures with his family.
