Robbie Williams fans, the time has come as his highly anticipated Netflix documentary is finally here!

The four-part series dropped on 8th November and charts Robbie's incredible career over the last 30 years, including his early rise to fame, his solo career, mental health struggles and more.

It also documents his public feud with his Take That band member, Gary Barlow. So, here's everything you need to know about what happened with Gary Barlow and Robbie Williams, and what their relationship is like now.

Why did Robbie Williams and Gary Barlow fall out?

Robbie and Gary were both part of the iconic band Take That, alongside Mark Owen, Jason Orange and Howard Donald, which formed in 1990 when Robbie was just 16.

The band went on to create much-loved songs like 'Back For Good', 'Pray', 'Never Forget' and more. But, Robbie began struggling with mental health and alcoholism behind-the-scenes and his feud with Gary began.

"It seemed like there was one person being managed in Take That and it was Gary Barlow," he said in the Netflix documentary. "As a young person, I would have been jealous of that and a lot of me resented him."

After five years, Robbie quit the band in 1995 in the midst of their Nobody Else tour.

After leaving, he went on to call Gary a "clueless w****r" and added that the group "had all the creativity of mentally unstable morons". In the documentary, he said "I disliked Gary the most... I wanted to make him pay, I was vengeful."

Take That then split up in 1996 and Gary went onto pursue a successful solo career, earning £6.5million from the song-writing royalties, which he accused Robbie of being jealous of.

However, it wasn't long before Robbie also achieved solo success with the release of his single, 'Angels'. He continued to discuss Gary in the press, at one point saying: "My problem has always been with Gary. It was always with Gary.

“I wanted to crush him. I wanted to crush the memory of the band and I didn't let go. You know, even when he was down, I didn't let go.”

What is Robbie Williams and Gary Barlow's relationship like now?

Gary left the public eye after the release of his second album, while dealing with his own mental health struggles. He later invited Robbie over to his home for a chat to talk through their issues, but Robbie reportedly left the meeting after just 10 minutes.

However, Robbie then later invited Gary over to his home and the pair appeared to patch things up, with Gary describing their chat as an "exorcism" and said the band handled Robbie leaving badly.

"Living with that kind of feud isn’t right. The chat was like an exorcism," he said. "Rob felt that for the last year of Take That, he was crying out to every one of us. In the end, he left, and we handled that badly.

“We let him leave the fold and no one looked after him. Robbie was barely 21," he added.

In 2010, Robbie and Gary then announced they were releasing a new song together called 'Shame' and later that year, it was confirmed Robbie would be rejoining Take That and they would be going on a world tour.

He left the band for the second time in 2011, but, Robbie performed with Take That again as recently as 2020.

Now, on whether he told Gary about the documentary, Robbie said to The Independent, "No, because legally I didn’t have to." But, he did add that he previously had chats with Gary about his tell-all book, titled Better Man.

Plus, in a new interview with Netflix, Robbie said "I haven't had contact with Gary in over a year" but insisted they will be back in touch soon.

Robbie and Gary also both follow each other on Instagram, which is the universal sign all is well between two people!
