'I haven't kissed anyone else in 28 years': Eighties star Marilyn still heartbroken after 'affair with Gavin Rossdale'

Gavin Rossdale admitted to 'a one-time experimentation' with Boy George's best pal Marilyn, but the former Eighties star claims they were in love.

In a heartfelt interview about his traumatic descent into a 20-year drug habit, Marilyn - who now goes by his real name Peter Robinson - says he was so devastated after the 'break-up' with the Bush frontman, that he hasn't been romantically involved with another in 28 years.

'I cried every day for 10 years,' the Band Aid star, 52, told the Daily Mirror, 'I've not even kissed anyone else since.'

MailOnline has contacted Gavin's rep for comment.

Peter claims that he was 'vile' to Gavin, who was supposedly a super fan who would follow him round London at gigs and clubs.

'He told me he loved me, which I said was ridiculous because he didn't know me,' Robinson remembers. 'But after about an hour-and-a-half we were both crying and ended up in each other's arms. And that was it. We were a couple.'

When the news of their affair was first exposed in Boy George's 1995 autobiography Gavin completely denied it however in 2010 the musician admitted to their romance.

Speaking to InTouch, Rossdale said he had not admitted to the affair because of the media ‘glare’ when Bush were just forging a career in the U.S.

Peter insists that Gavin - now married to Gwen Stefani - was the love of his life, and after their relationship allegedly ended in 1986 became reclusive and never left his mum's home for 20 years.

'I thought of ending it all, but I couldn't go through with it.'

Peter dwindled his small fortune on heroin and prescription drugs, an abusive habit that lasted two decades, and was nearly thrown in jail for possession when police raided Boy George's apartment in 1986.

Fast forward 24 years and the addict entered into Focus 12, a rehab facility which has helped him become free from drugs for the last four years.

Having lost all his money to drugs, Peter is now getting benefits from the government but he hopes reviving his music career will help him become self-sufficient once more.
