German Danish Business Forum 2023

Sustainable development is impossible without a sustainable economy. Committed to driving this change, Hamburg Chamber of Commerce, the German Danish Chamber of Commerce and Dansk Industri invite German and Danish businesses, policy makers and institutions to discuss the way forward at the first German Danish Business Forum: Germany and Denmark - joining forces in a changing world

Germany and Denmark share a history of close economic, political, and cultural relations. In times of multiple global challenges, it is more important than ever to deepen economic ties. An overarching topic is the urgent need to decarbonise as quickly as possible in order to control the impact of climate change and ensure energy security and economic prosperity in Europe for future generations. Last year, Denmark and Germany agreed on a Joint Action Plan for future cooperation in areas that are of specific strategic importance. It especially builds on the shared goal of a climate policy that promotes green transition. Both countries have presented ambitious goals to become carbon-neutral by 2045 and 2050 respectively. A central step towards these goals is a hydrogen partnership between Germany and Denmark. Innovation is key in multiple fields of cooperation beyond energy to foster the green transition, i. e. developing sustainable biological alternatives to conventional food and feed, modes of transportation or energy efficient urban planning and building.
