Player One S-Series 1.25 inch Photosphere 10nm Filter

SKU: PS125

Category: Filter and Wheel

Description:

The Player One S-Series 1.25 inch Photosphere 10nm Filter utilizes high-quality optical glass substrate and multi-layer composite coating technology, ensuring excellent optical performance for astrophotography.

The Photosphere filter is an assistant filter used in solar photosphere imaging. To adequately reduce sunlight, it is recommended to use a Baader film or Herschel wedge with this filter for imaging. The Photosphere filter is a narrowband filter with a center wavelength (CWL) of 540nm and a bandwidth of 10nm.

Why use a Photosphere filter? When capturing solar photosphere images, using a Herschel wedge alone or adding an IR685 filter may not provide the best results. The Photosphere filter allows you to capture the best detail and contrast at approximately 540nm. With the Photosphere 10nm filter, you can achieve impressive solar granulation and capture detailed sunspot features.

It is recommended to set up your Photosphere filter on a T-mount to optimize performance and protect against dust particles on the camera glass.

1.25inch Photosphere 10nm filter(Photosphere enhanced filter)

Photosphere filter is an assistant filter, telescope must use baader film or Herschel wedge for adequate reduction of sun light, then you can use this filter for imaging.

Photosphere filter is a narrowband filter, CWL is 540nm, bandwidth 10nm.

Why to use a photosphere filter?

As we know, we doing solar photosphere imaging, usually use Herschel wedge to get best contrast, maybe add an IR685 filter to improve seeing condition. But, it’s not the best way to shoot photosphere.

Photosphere has best detail and contrast at almost 540nm, with this photosphere 10nm filter, you will be able to get some impressive solar granulation and sunspot details like this:

Where should I setup my photosphere filter?

Usually, we recommand to setup your photosphere filter on T-mount, this also can help you against dust drop on camera glass.
