Brooke Hogan is nearing a milestone: the release of her first country album. The reality-TV personality turned singer — and daughter of wrestler Hulk Hogan — has called Nashville, Tenn., home for three years with the hope of earning a spot in the industry. “I kind of didn’t tell anybody, because I wanted to cultivate my songwriting, make some friends,” she told Fox411.com.

“I feel like I’ve finally found my home. I’m from Clearwater, Fla., and I love Nashville so much (that) I don’t even really miss the beach.” Her album, finished and due in the new year, will have what the 26-year-old calls a “beachy country-rock” sound.

The artist, who has released non-country music, was asked why she made the switch. “I did country way back when I was, like, 13, 14,” she said, “and then I kind of fell into the pop genre.

You know, when you’re 17 and a record label says, ‘Hey, do pop,’ you listen. I just was kind of sick of the songwriting falling away, and that world wasn’t registering my heart right, so I said, ‘ I’m going to try my hand in Nashville.’??”
