Pierogi Mountain on North Grant Avenue in Columbus is famous for its pierogi and will be featured in a Friday episode of "Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives" on Food Network.

The mayor of Flavortown has returned to Columbus.

"Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives" on Food Network is set to feature Downtown restaurant Pierogi Mountain, 105 N. Grant Ave., in Friday's episode of "Triple D Nation." During the show, viewers will see Columbus-born restauranteur Guy Fieri return to the Polish restaurant known for its comfort food, including its much-raved-about pierogi, house-made sausages, banh mi and more.

"Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives" has made regular stops in Columbus, including Ena's Caribbean Kitchen, Momo Ghar, Ray Ray's Hog Pit, Loops and Sweet Carrot, which shuttered its restaurant in 2021. Pierogi Mountain will be featured for the second time as part of the show's 42nd season. The restaurant first appeared in the series in 2017.

According to Pierogi Mountain, the episode was shot in February and will premiere Friday at 9 p.m. In a social media post announcing the episode, the restaurant said it would be closing early on Friday for employee rest and celebration.

The Downtown eatery got its start at Cafe Bourbon Street, a campus bar at 2216 Summit St., before opening its first standalone restaurant in 2020. Last year, Pierogi Mountain committed to paying its employees at least $15 an hour and challenged other restaurants to follow suit.
