EASY WEB CAM FOR VISIBLE TO IR CONVERSION

We bought this to convert it to IR. This cam is easy to convert to IR . Just pop the front cap off, which is just held in with double sided sticky tape . Unscrew the lens, peel off the IR filter on the back and replace with a piece of old style exposed and developed color film negative punched out with a 3 hole punch. It is not necessary to take out any of the circuit boards.

  • Easy to use but lacking in feature control.

The product worked instantly as soon as the 1min. install was done and it was plugged in. Picture was amazing clear but the auto-focus really slowed things down. Every time you move it takes a few seconds to catch up causing some frustration. Also I could not find a way to turn this feature off. The features for photo capture are lack luster if not non existent. There is no timer button and you do not have full control over the image options, there is only a brightness control. I still rate this product as good considering it boosted itself as a web cam for chatting and not one for taking pictures. The feature it was meant for works well I just wish it had more option for control.

  • Great small camera, autofocus, mic, rotates 360, but cam bracket problematic

Installed on a Dell laptop, Windows 7 Pros: Nice webcam, very small (about 1.5 cubic inches), perfect image even in low light, autofocus works great, good microphone, can be rotated 360 degrees around and about 15 degrees up/down. Cons: Very small bracket - did not fit on the top of my laptop due to the fact that the laptop monitor top is slightly rounded. It could fit on the sides where the edge of the monitor is at 90 degrees and than about 1/2 inch wide - but could not keep it there as the picture would be rotated at 90 degrees. Even if the bracket would have fit on the top of the latop monitor, I could not close the laptop with the camera on due to the thickness of the bracket. To get around this problem, I build a small aluminum bracket which I glued to the outside of the laptop ...

  • Overall it is a nice though the auto-focus function is kinda annoying.

Nice webcame with HD quality pictures. 360 degree Rotation. Also, it can get very clear view with very weak light around. The only weakness is its auto-focus function. It keeps doing auto-focus every several seconds so that the picture might become blur during its auto-focus (for about 1 second). So I have to disable the aoto-focus attribute. However, the software didn't save your setting. When you reopen the webcam or reconnect it, the auto-focus setting will come back so I have to change the setting every time. It is a litte bit anonny but I can tolerate it.

  • Best cam for the price hands down. Get the lighting right for autofocus!

Works great. The autofocus isn't that much of an issue for me. If you get a few lights so that there's not more light behind you, it doesn't try and focus away. Most likely you WILL be dealing with the autofocus as you can't always have the perfect situation, but this is comparable to cameras 3 and 4 times as expensive and vastly improved my ability to use Google Hangouts as well as record myself performing music. The low light capability even in 2013 is down right AMAZING. I only wish the frame rate was higher (you can bump the resolution down for better framerates). I used to have the Logitech C910 I think it was called, and it was pretty good. I sold it unfortunately thinking I'd never be using it again but lost a bunch of weight so don't have a problem being on camera any more lol
