Jennifer Lopez Goes Sheer in a Form-Fitting Crystal Gown at the 2024 Met Gala

Met Gala co-chair Jennifer Lopez embraced the delicateness of this year’s “The Garden of Time” dress code, arriving in a sheer, form-fitting gown with crystal detailing. The dress was custom Schiaparelli Haute Couture, and she accessorized with Tiffany & Co. jewelry. Her hair was styled up in a bun, and she kept her makeup ethereal with a nude lip. In a red carpet interview, J.Lo revealed that her look was comprised of two and a half million beads and took 800 hours to make.

She walked the red carpet on her own rather than with her husband, Ben Affleck, choosing to keep the focus on her look.

Lopez and Affleck last attended the Met Gala together in 2021. They even kissed with their masks on, due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

At that event, Lopez wore a brown Ralph Lauren dress with a high-leg slit and a cowgirl hat to pay tribute to the night’s “In America: A Lexicon of Fashion” theme:

She returned to the Met Gala on her own last year. She wore a black and pink Ralph Lauren halter dress for the gala’s “Karl Lagerfeld: A Line Of Beauty” theme.

The actress walked the red carpet alone and brought her sister with her to an after-party. Affleck didn’t join her at the major fashion event because he had “work commitments he could not get out of” in Los Angeles, Daily Mail reported.

Affleck’s impact on Lopez’s life has been profound. She spoke in tears about his belief in her in the documentary for her This Is Me...Now: A Love Story film, The Greatest Love Story Never Told.

“What he said and what he saw in me, what he made me believe about myself, only comes from love,” she said during a meeting with her team. “Because nobody else could make me see that about myself. It’s very moving. I didn’t think much of myself and so the world didn’t think much of me. That lined up. [He was like,] ‘This is how it is. See it. Believe it.’ I was like, ‘Okay.’”
