Peninsula Valdes

Home of the Southern Right Whale

Peninsula Valdes is located in Chubut province. Apart from being one of the favourite places of the Southern Right Whale it has much more to offer its tourists. The landscapes are amazing: a perfect combination of mountain, ocean, steppes, dunes and beaches. As a holiday destination it has plenty of unique activities to do. Horse riding in this special place is a one of a kind opportunity.

Among the many activities to do, sea wildlife mapping is a great one. Depending on the season you can see whales, dolphins, sea lions, elephant seals, killer whales, and penguins. Also, aquatic activities such as fishing, or motorboat excursions are very popular. Many people also go trekking searching for fossils which are everywhere.

Horseback riding on the beach, dunes and the immense Patagonian steppe is our favourite. During the summer, you can enjoy the warm water beaches and high temperatures.

As it is a National Park, the number of tourists that can visit it is limited which makes it an ideal and safe place for a vacation. This limitation on the flow of tourists and the lovely coastal restaurants that offer excellent food makes Peninsula Valdes a paradise for those looking to relax.

Puerto Piramides is the only town within the peninsula. There you can find the only hotels, restaurants, shops and homes of the local people.
